The Overcoming Life
By
Pastor Anita Oyakhilome
“Ye
are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is
he that is in you, than he that is in the world”
(1 John 4:4).
Jesus said in John 5:26, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so
hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;” then in 1 John 5:12,
we read that “He that hath the Son hath life....” In other words, as one
who is born again, you have the life of God—eternal life. That life is
the overcoming life. It’s the God-kind of life. This is what makes you a
super-being as a Christian. You have a quality of life that makes you
superior to satan.
No wonder John excitedly exclaimed in the scripture above: “Ye are of
God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that
is in you, than he that is in the world.” Now you can live a life of
victory all the way, because the greater One lives in you. Hallelujah!
God has given you a quality of life that’s different from what the rest
of the world has. That’s why the scripture says, “Though you’re in the
world, you’re not of the world. You’re born of God, and whatsoever is
born of God overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).
You’re an overcomer! You’re not trying to overcome the world, sin,
sickness, disease or the devil; you already overcame them all! Don’t
accept or think defeat, lack or failure. Have the victory mentality, for
the life of God in you has made you an overcomer! You’re more than a
conqueror.
Confession
Thanks be unto God, who gives me the victory always and has made me more
than a conqueror! I’ve already overcome satan, the world and it’s
systems. I have dominion over sin, sickness and disease. I live
triumphantly in Christ everyday. Hallelujah.
