Jesus Bore Your Sicknesses
By Rev.
Kenneth E. Hagin
That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
Himself [Jesus] took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.(Matt.
8:17)
Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Since He bore them,
why should we bear them?
Isaiah 53:4 says, "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
In the Hebrew, the words "griefs" and "sorrows" mean sicknesses and
pains.
So Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our pains.
That's the same thing as saying, "...Himself took our infirmities, and
bare our sicknesses" (Matt. 8:17).
Another reference in the New Testament is First Peter 2:24: "Who his own
self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to
sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
The Bible says, "In the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word
be established" (Matt. 18:16). I've given you three references right
here.
So settle it in your mind and heart once and for all that God wants you
healed just as much as He wants you saved.
God has provided for you to be healed physically, just as much as He has
provided for you to be born again—to receive the remission of sins and
become a new creature in Christ Jesus.
Confession
It is written in Matthew
8:17 that Himself, Jesus, took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses.
What He bore, I need not bear! Because He bore my infirmities, because
He bore my sicknesses, I'm healed! I'm free!
