That We Might Be Sons
By Rev.
Kenneth E. Hagin
But when
the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a
woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that
we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath
sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an
heir of God through Christ
(Gal. 4:4-7).
The object of the Incarnation was that man might be given the right to
become a child of God (John 1:12).
Man could become a
child of God only by receiving the nature of God; therefore, Christ came
that man might receive eternal life (John 10:10; 1 John 5:11-12).
And man could
receive eternal life only after he had been legally redeemed from
Satan's authority (Col. 1:13-14).
Confession:
God sent forth His Son to redeem us, that we might become sons of God. I
have received Christ; therefore, I have life. I am a son of God. And
because I am, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into my heart,
crying, "Abba, Father." I am no more a servant; but a son. I am an heir
of God through Christ.
