The
Lordship of Jesus
By Rev.
Kenneth E. Hagin
But
sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an
answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you
with meekness and fear. (1 Peter 3:15)
Our spirit responds when we yield to the lordship of Jesus. The key
to biblical faith is the recognition in our own heart of the lordship of
Jesus.
Sanctify the Lord God in your heart. The word "sanctify" means to separate
or to set apart.
The Amplified Bible says, "But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy
[and acknowledge Him] as Lord.
Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to
account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and
respectfully."
We set Christ apart in our heart when we crown Jesus as the Lord of our
life. We crown His Word as the Lord of our lives. This gives the Word
its proper place. When we give the Word its place, faith becomes
perfectly natural.
Confession: I set Christ apart as holy in my heart. I acknowledge
Him as my Lord and Savior. I crown God's Word as the Lord of my life.
And faith comes as a natural result.
