For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.(Galatians 5:6 GNB)
Everything in the Kingdom of God functions by the principle of faith. That’s why the Bible says the just shall live by faith. It didn’t say the just shall live by holiness or righteousness, but by faith. This shows just how important faith is and why the ‘faith-message’ should be taken very seriously by anyone who desires to live a successful life in God’s Kingdom.
Interestingly, however, people walk by faith everyday all over the world. Or how else would people have gone to the moon or built sky scrapers if not by faith. But not all faith is the God-kind of faith. The God-kind of faith is the faith which works by love. God is love and the faith that works by love recognizes God.
The faith that works by love is a saving faith that comes from God, and is imparted to you by the Word of God. In today’s world, where there’s so much evil and wickedness, operating at this higher level of faith is required to live successfully as a Christian.
If you walk in faith that works by love, you won’t steal or lie to people because you love them. You’d find yourself only walking in love and living peaceably among all men as the Bible instructs us to do. You’d even be able to listen and not respond in bitterness when someone speaks evil of you. You’d remain unruffled and still love those who criticize and despitefully use you. By faith, you’d hold your head up and not allow what your critics say make you react negatively, and you wouldn’t wish evil for those who hate, mistreat and misjudge you.
Confession
Dear Father, thank you for revealing to me a higher level of faith that’s uncommon to the world. I walk in faith that works by love because your love is daily shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I have the God-kind of faith, which works by love and I’m at peace with all men, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
